Western Cape SAWBA Inter-Provincial Trials
The Western Cape SAWBA Inter-Provincial Trials took place on the 6th and 7th July online on BBO. Six teams entered and there was a round robin of five 14-board matches very professionally organised by Steve Bunker, who was also the TD. The final results are attached here. Our congratulations to the winning team - Erica Zimet, Shirley Glyn, Rose Duff, Griet Horak and Wendy Praetorius - who will represent the Western Cape in the A Section of the national inter-provincials in August. A course of beginner bridge lessons under the auspices of the WCBU

The beginner lessons are run by Carol Stanton, who plays for South Africa and who is an experienced bridge teacher. This is a wonderful opportunity to come to grips with both theory and practice over a six week period. The Round Robin on the first day and a half produced these results ... The final results of the Swiss tournament can be found here ... The head-to-head final between the two top teams was narrowly won by the Keet team (Duncan Keet, Carol Stanton, Janne Masojada and Hennie Fick) against the Burman team (Saul Burman, Andrew Cruise, Imtiaz Kaprey and Paul Reynolds) - by a two point carry-over.
