The Western Cape Pairs Championships, one of the premier Red points events in the calendar, took place on the 24th and 25th August at the Bridge Centre. There were 23 pairs who participated.

On cold and rainy winter days, there is nothing better than spending a weekend playing bridge in a convivial atmosphere with delicious teas and lunches in between the challenging boards.

The A-section winners were Glen Holman and Anton der Kinderen, with runners-up Diniar and Nancy Minwalla. The B-section winners were Jimmie Potgieter and Judy Walsh, with Graham Spolander and Sonja Purdon in 2nd place. Congratulations to the winners and to all who participated in a tightly fought tournament.
